I'm having a catharsis

This is Axel the Sot. He sings a song called "Beer is Better Than Women", which, while meant to be funny, is also a great song for getting past hurt.

The Art Of This Culture

I chose Japan because I love exploring that part of my heritage. I love the honor system of the samurais and the calligraphy of the syballaries (Japanese version of an alphabet).

My Favorite Artist

My favorite artist is Salvador Dali. I love the crazy stuff he comes up with!

Fashion as Art

Okay, as far as wearing it goes, I'd never do it, but I think it's a great expression of individulaity. It just belongs on a mannequin.

My Photographic Eye

My theme is: Community camping

I'm having a catharsis

I was listening to "Gives You Hell" by the All-American Rejects over and over again for days to cleanse myself from a really bad relationship experience.

Why I believe this film is a work of art

I think this film is a work of art because the scenery is majestic and the storyline is something only an artist could make up. My favorite part that I consider art is when Amelie turns into a puddle of water out of disappointment in herself.

Meet this Artist I Know

This is Joe or "Guy"as most of his friends call him. He draws a lot of fantastical subjects (faeries, dragons, nymphs, sirens) as well as designing tattoos for several of my friends (although he is not a tattoo artist himself). He also has the largest amount of musical knowledge I've ever known anyone to have, and I've known a lot of music buffs.

Art and Human Behavior

I think this picture shows human behavior very well because they were all socialized to pose prettily for the camera (You will notice no bunny ears or stuck-out tongues). There is no "rebellious one"that wants or feels that it's necessary to look silly.

Art and Human Nature

This is a picture of a guy about to do a tribal dance. When I think of human nature, I think of the way we group ourselves; so I thought a dance specific to one culture would be perfect for art and human nature.

Art and the Human Condition

This sculpture is called "The Human Condition" by Elizabeth Featherstone Hoff. I chose this sculpture because she has hands, but no way to move them, and no legs, which I thought was a great way to depict what goes on in people's minds and what actually happens.

Art and the Human Struggle

This is a picture taken by Harry Mattison after a bomb explosion near a cathedral. These people are trying not get trampled by everyone else in the chaos. I chose this picture because you can see the pleading facial expressions very well.

Architecture

I found this on a picture dictionary website. It had translations for eight different languages. Personally, I think if I saw this picture without the word in my language, I would just think "fancy design".

On The Graffiti Beat

This is some graffiti on one of the trains at the abandoned train station in Carrollton. I took a picture of it not really because I liked the artist's work, but because I liked the effect the rain had on the artwork.
